It's hard not to notice the strange staircase that sits along the beach of Bondi, Australia. Partially because it juts out over a cliff, but mostly because it stretches so far into the sky that it disappears into the clouds.
The massive set of stairs isn't a Led Zeppelin tribute, but rather a killer optical illusion by artist David McCracken. The sculpture, titled Diminish and Ascend, might look like it stretches the skies, but you wouldn't get very far if you tried to climb these stairs. McCracken's piece is actually a specially-warped sculpture that maintains the illusion of infinity from all angles.
