The Underground Skate Park

London's amazing terrifying underground tunnel system has recently been renovated from haunted spider dungeon into a subterranean hipster haven. Currently five tunnels have been converted into bars, music venues, and even a huge skate park. Skinny jeans are obviously mandatory.

The underground tubes in question are beneath the Old Vic Theater and were discovered by Kevin Spacey's assistant Hamish Jenkinson. No I didn't just make that up. Yes I know how it sounds. Jenkinson was hosting a Banksy exhibition *eyeroll* in Waterloo when he discovered a mysterious door, and that's when his hipster instincts kicked in. Clearly the cool is strong with him, because what he found inside would make any old-timey mustache-having-twenty-something cream.

Hidden behind the door was an urban gem so perfect Hamish almost died. Just kidding, I have no idea if he almost died. Either way, he decided it would make a perfect place for an "edgy" underground sanctuary that's way cooler than you are, and the rest was history.

Last year, after the Old Vic Tunnels closed, Vans caught wind of the vacancy and decided to step in. After a very "Brooklyn" makeover the tunnels were renamed House of Vans London and opened their doors last week to crowds of excited, hip people, all searching for the next awesome place to tell their friends that they knew about it first.

Always embracing and fueling creative expression through art, music, skateboarding, BMX, street culture and fashion; the space offers a solid platform for the local communities to experience and engage with Vans' 'Off The Wall' spirit. With creative expression at the forefront; The House of Vans London is showcasing an art gallery, a VansLab artist incubator space, cinema, live music venue, premium café and bars, gifting suite and skater built and designed concrete bowl, mini ramp and street course." - houseofvanslondon.com

There's currently plenty of bands, events, and art exhibitions in the works, and of course there's always London's only underground skate park, so you're going to have loads of chances to take your Facebook selfies, and your Tinder pics... or whatever it is you kids are doing today. Pull up your pants!
