Batubulan Village is located within 8 km from Denpasar City, the capital of Bali province. It is an artistic countryside in west part of Gianyar regency.
The name of Batubulan is originally taken from two words which are: Batu and Bulan (moon stone)
Village Batubulan is quite famous among domestic and foreign tourists as a center of art sculptures and carvings, Barong Dance and stone carving art.
The village has a fixed location of the special art show presented to tourists, Performing arts include Barong Dance, Dance Kecak and Legong Dance. Barong Dance is daily performed at five different stages in this countryside, like Puseh Temple Stage, Tegal Tamu Stage, Denjalan Stage, Sahadewa Stage and Sila Budaya Stage.
Galleries and art shops which can be easily found in the village display various statues, such as Ganesha, Buddha, the gods and goddesses, the heroes, as well as other forms of more modern sculpture, and various kinds of stone sculptures, such as sandstone, ceramic, rock, and white sandstone, especially imported from other island.
