Wave Rock

The Wave Rock is a sandstone rock formation stands in North Coyote Buttes of the Paria Canyon Wilderness on the border of Utah and Arizona.

The Wave remained basically unknown until the 1990s when it was largely advertised in German travel brochures. It is a renowned geologic formations in the Southwestern United States.

The peculiar and unique fluctuating stratum was created by slow wind and rain erosion. It's blended twisted colors leaving you in a walking dream feeling! I bet it is one of the jaw-dropping places to hike.

The rock is certainly one of a photographer's targets to shoot. Many described walking through the dunes as an intensely strange experience or as being like in a drug induced walking dream.

Unfortunately, it can be easily damaged though it has been hardened for ages. As a result, only 20
visitors a day are allowed to walk through the ravine, and permits are required. The permits are issued through online and in person lotteries, and tour guides are available for hire. The Wave Permits are not easy to get, but odds can vary at different times of year.
